Special Event Public Star Party to observe the “Super Moon”. The full moon will reach it’s closest point to the Earth (perigee) on Sunday evening November 13th just before midnight, within a few hours of the moon being directly opposite the sun in the sky. This rare coincidence results in the closest FULL Moon we have seen since 1948.
We are opening the observatory to the public to view this special event beginning at 5:00 pm.
This is a “Cancelled if Cloudy” Event. Watch the MAS home page and MAS Discussion forum for additional information and Star Party updates.
