The Minnesota Astronomical Society invites you to our 10th annual Camping with the Stars Event taking place at the Eagle Lake Observatory, located within Carver County Baylor Regional Park, about 45 minutes Southwest of Minneapolis and 3 miles north of Norwood-Young America.

 

Public Star Party at the MAS Eagle Lake Observatory.

The Eagle Lake Observatory consists of the Onan Observatory, the Sylvia A. Casby Observatory and the HotSpot Classroom.
Additional information as well as directions can be found on the Eagle Lake Observatory web page.

Objects of interest include: Sun, Venus, Mercury, daytime stars

Monthly meetings are open to all – you needn’t be an MAS member to attend. These meetings normally take place the first Thursday of each month at the Fairview Community Center in Roseville (“Great Room”). Monthly meetings start at 7:00 p.m. and last about two hours.

Each meeting features Board member introductions, general announcements, “Better Know a Constellation”, normally presented by a member, main speaker (around 45 minutes duration) and an after-meeting social gathering. Society business is occasionally transacted as needed.

NOTE: Meeting time and / or location sometimes change to take advantage of special program opportunities. Please check the MAS homepage and/or recorded message at 952-467-2426 for the latest information regarding the meeting.

The August BSIG will be on Saturday August 11 < DATE CHANGE!>, weather permitting, at the Metcalf Nature Center.
