The Minnesota Astronomical Society invites you to our 11th annual Camping with the Stars Event taking place at the Eagle Lake Observatory, located within Carver County Baylor Regional Park, about 45 minutes Southwest of Minneapolis and 3 miles north of Norwood-Young America.

 

Public Star Party at the MAS Eagle Lake Observatory.

The Eagle Lake Observatory consists of the Onan Observatory, the Sylvia A. Casby Observatory and the HotSpot Classroom.
Additional information as well as directions can be found on the Eagle Lake Observatory web page.

Objects of interest include: The Sun, the Moon, Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Mars at its best in years and daytime stars

Join us for the Minnesota Astronomical Society – Northern Nights Star Fest, offered in cooperation with the Long Lake Conservation Center (LLCC). MAS Members  and non-members (the Public) are welcome to register for this Regional Star Party event  held under the very dark skies in rural Aitkin County, about 125 miles north of Minneapolis/St. Paul, offering viewing objects through the MAS’s largest aperture telescopes, the 25” and 30” Obsession telescopes.

Monthly meeting @ Fairview Community Center

Monthly meetings are open to all – you needn’t be an MAS member to attend. These meetings normally take place the first Thursday of each month at the Fairview Community Center in Roseville (“Great Room”). Monthly meetings start at 7:00 p.m. and last about two hours.

Each meeting features Board member introductions, general announcements, “Better Know a Constellation”, normally presented by a member, main speaker (around 45 minutes duration) and an after-meeting social gathering. Society business is occasionally transacted as needed.
