LLCC Available for Member Use (alt.) @ Long Lake Conservation Center This is the back-up evening for the LLCC star party if the prior evening's event was canceled.
If the MAS star party at LLCC is called 'ON' then the facilities at Long Lake Conservation Center between Aitkin and McGregor, MN are available to MAS members this evening. Call (952) 467-2426 after 4:00 pm to determine the status of the star party.
NOTE: Unlike other MAS star parties this event is closed to the general public. Only members of the MAS are allowed at the site during this event. Members must display an MAS-provided parking permit and follow the site access procedures as documented in the 'Observing Facilities' section of the web site. (Click on 'More Info' for details). Monthly MAS Meeting @ Science Museum of Minnesota, St. Paul Members of the MAS as well as the general public are invited to attend the monthly meeting of the Society, held at the Science Museum of Minnesota in St. Paul.
Each meeting features a program (around 45 minutes duration), announcements and an after-meeting social gathering. Society business is occasionally transacted as needed.
Monthly meeting programs cover a wide variety of interests and vary from introductory to advanced in nature. Programs may include talks by professional astronomers from the University of Minnesota, presentations by members on topics of interest to amateurs, videos, slides or planetarium shows.
If you plan to attend an upcoming meeting, please call the Society's recording at 952-467-2426 for time, place and featured subject.
NOTE: Meeting time and / or location sometimes change to take advantage of special program opportunities or due to conflicts at the Science Museum. Always check the recorded message for the latest information. |
