[edit] Overview
The editorial approach and policies of this wiki reflect the decision-making process used at the observatory.
A task force, the 'Onan Committee' is accountable to the Executive Board of the MAS and manages the observatory's operation, including changes to equipment, configuration, operating instructions and policies.
Reporting to the Onan Committee are individual 'wranglers' responsible for specific aspects of the observatory's operation (e.g., 'computer wrangler'). A 'wrangler' is responsible for detailed decisions regarding their assigned area and ensuring the equipment or process within the scope of their authority meet the needs of the observatory and its users.
Since this wiki is the primary medium used to communicate these decisions, policies and procedures, control over its content is stricter than most wiki's. The remainder of this document describes these controls.
