Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
Astronomical Research SIG
[NOTE: Participation in Special Interest
Groups is limited to MAS members only. For information about
joining the MAS, please visit the membership
page at www.mnastro.org/membership.]
Purpose
The MAS Research SIG was formed so members could discuss,
plan and engage in research projects, including variable
photometry, asteroid astrometry and photometry and
low-resolution spectroscopy. We encourage anyone interested in
these topics to join the Research SIG discussion on this site.
Coordinator's Welcome
Hello. The purpose of the Special Interest Group (SIG) is to discuss and participate in astronomy as a science. Astronomy
as a spectator sport is a fine and good thing but it is also fun to start to think about the actual science behind the pretty pictures.
This is a small group and we don't really meet very often. Most of our activity is currently taking place at the Research SIG discussion on the MAS web site. I hope you join us!
