BSIG Observing Session at Metcalf Field

October 19 @ 5:30 pm - 11:00 pm CDT

Free
Are you new to MAS?  Do you have a new telescope, but need some help setting it up?  Join us for the Beginner’s Special Interest Group’s Observing Session.  This is a free event, and open to all who want to learn!

We hope you can make it!

MAS Metcalf Observing Field

There is no charge to attend a beginner event, and you do not need to be an MAS member to attend — everyone is welcome!! The purpose is to help beginners learn the night sky, and how to set up and use a telescope. Volunteers from the MAS will be on hand to answer your questions.

If you have a telescope, feel free to bring it. If you need help with learning how to set up and use it, we are happy to help!  Sign up below to be notified about any schedule changes.

If you haven’t been to Metcalf Field, it can be a little difficult to locate the entrance. So please arrive in daylight.

The BSIG Coordinator will make the final Go/No Go call on the evening of Thursday before the event, based on the weather forecast. If Friday is more favorable, then the session may be moved to Friday.

Please monitor the MAS BSIG Forum for latest updates.

If you’d like to volunteer to help out at this and future Beginner group events, please let me know.
