MAS members, Bring telescopes to Pershing Field Park in Southwest Minneapolis to help urban families and beginners get their start in astronomy. Special guest astronomer Ben Huset.
Share the brilliant Winter Hexagon high in the south. Magnificent Orion. Orion’s belt pointing the way to the horns of Taurus the Bull and the lovely Pleiades. Huge bonus: planet Jupiter, with its moons, plus view sunrise on a waxing first quarter moon.
Extremely unusual opportunity to share Winter Astronomy on a 50° evening in March.
Pershing Athletic Field, 3523 W. 48th St., Minneapolis. Huge flat observing field, handicap accessible, off street parking. Park lights turned off by Director Heather Susag.
7:30 PM until 9 PM. Please share your telescope, any size, any level. No telescope needed.
